Meyer Lapidos' parents were David and Henye.

Mayer was born in 1855, somewhere in Russia, probably in Southern Russia - Galicia or the Ukraine.

We know that Mayer had two brothers, but here a mystery begins:

One of his brothers we know nothing about.

The other brother was Nachum (or Nathan) Karpiloff. The mystery is why Mayer's surname was LAPIDUS, and Nachum's surname was KARPILOFF.
