Minnie Lapidus and Morris Wolf

Minnie was born about 1881 in the Russian Empire, probably within the Ukraine. When she was about seventeen years old, around 1898, she married Moshe Wolfowicz, who was about 21 at the time. They had two sons we know of: Berel/Benjamin, born February 16, 1901, and Itzok/Isidor/Irving, born September 16,1905 in Ekaterinoslav city. There may have been another son born 1902 - 1905 who died as a baby.

After arriving in New York, Moshe "americanized" his name to Morris Wolf, and in 1907, they had a daughter Sarah, who died young. Then, on December 15, 1909, Minnie had another son, Moshe (Morris). Since Minnie's husband Morris had died on October 25, the baby was named for his father.

On July 6, 1913, widow Minnie married the widower Samuel Shapiro, and on September 15, 1915, they had a son they named Hyman.
