Galati, Romania

Galati is on the southern end of the famous Danube River, just before it becomes a delta and flows into the Black Sea.

Here is a postcard of the Piata Regala, the town center, before WWII. According to another website, it was destroyed in the summer of 1944 by the Allied forces.
