Samuel Lapidus

Sam Lapidus. There is some family discussion as to whether this photo is Sam or David - the men looked very much alike.

Sam Lapidus was the baby of the family, born March 26, 1894 in Ekaterinoslav, Russia (now Ukraine). He was named for his grandfather Chaim Zalman Avrutin.

In 1911, he married Katie Rosen, daughter of Johnson and Annie Rosen. They divorced in 1921, and in 1922 he married Esther Meyerowitz.

Sam and Katie had two sons: John, born in 1912, and David, born in 1915.

Sam and Esther had a son and a daughter: Seymour, born abaut 1921-1925, and Edna, born in 1925.
